Terror & Wonder

Pity the wretch whose flesh

Forges a mind of death,

Stealing their very breath

Whilst they sink under—

Ravaged and plundered!

Far ‘neath the whelming flood,

Pierced by the spear of God,

Wasting their precious blood,

Shattered and sundered.

Crushed by His mighty hand, all

Terror and wonder.

Naked with hearts laid bare,

Tortured unto despair,

Weeping a silent prayer

Drowned by the thunder—

Woes without number!

Plagued by the hounds of Hell,

Weakened they fought and fell,

Dying their souls did swell

Ne’er more encumbered.

Raised by His mighty hand, all

Terror and wonder.
